When one suffers from the pains of a physical injury, he has hope that when the injury is treated, it would heal with time and he would be fine sooner than later. However, it is usually not the same for a broken heart. A person whose heart is broken probably due to love not returned, breaking of trust by an unfaithful partner, loss of a loved one and many more, would find it very hard to heal. The lucky ones heal with time and true love but many others just never heal.
The good news is that although not I in this world can give us true peace, God alone is that giver of true peace. He mends the broken hearted and lifts the heavy burden off the shoulders of the heavy ladened, “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). He can do the same for you who are suffering from a broken heart too. Just pour out your heart to him in prayers. He who loves you truly, would restore peace and light to your heart.
Say this prayer:
“Dear God, please help me heal From grief, loss and the pain of love gone wrong. Help me to leave the deep heartache in my past and be whole and happy again.
In my fear of never finding true love, I have been needy and overly-anxious, desperate and too willing to settle. Please calm the need in me that leads to unwise choices. Fill the emptiness in my heart that makes me crave unhealthy love.
Restore my faith in love and relationships and grant me the ability to love myself fully and to feel lovable and wanted from within. Let the healing process begin in my heart. Amen”.
