Irmani struck the dog, named Bella, five times with the belt, which caused multiple rib fractures, a fracture to her left eye socket, and bruising around her dorsal pelvis.

A Matteson, Illinois man has been arrested after he beat his girlfriend’s seven-year-old Shih Tzu dog with a belt.
25-year-old Lewiel Irmani was arrested and charged with felony aggravated cruelty to animals.

She also suffered such bad injuries to her mouth and teeth that she can’t close her mouth and can only eat and drink from a syringe.
Both Irmani and his girlfriend then brought Bella to VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital, where a staff member contact the Woodridge Police Department to report that the dog had suffered abuse at the hands of humans.

Bella received great medical care from the staff at the hospital and is thankfully expected to make a full recovery.
Irmani was booked into jail and will need to post a $2,000 bond in order to leave before his trial, which is set for October 5.
